Hi Folks,
my friend just asked me to take a look to his MacBook Pro (2012 unibody), that was not starting (White Screen).
took a look and identified that it might be a HDD failure , more precisely a GPT/MBR section issue.
After spending some hours trying fsck, fsck_hfs , gpt and other gparted commands from both another Mac and a Linux computer I am able to view partition however can't still get access to it in order to make a proper backup (last TM is from Jan).
I've been able to reinstall macOS on the device (using a spare HDD I was having, and Macbook seems fully functional)
Any tips are welcome.
thanks!
