Hard Drive 'show item info' is funked

Hi, when I turn on display info my hard drive counter is messed up. It displayed it correctly a couple of times randomly but usually it just looks like in the attachment for the most part.

Why is that?

Why is that?

It is because it is trying to display information that is too long for the space it has to do it in.

To get around this either change "Grid Spacing" or "Text Size" in View Options.

Not an ideal solution by any means and it is something that has long annoyed me in OS X.

Why is that?

It tends to do that when the font size in Finder (View -> Show View Options) is set to 12 pt. Down sizing to 11 pt or up to 13 pt, strangely enough, both helps, at least at my MacBook...

I was also puzzled with the seemingly strange continuation (the ,...and a large period) but it makes sense after it displays correctly.

What do you guys have your icon size set to? It seems that 13 point font is a better fit (visually) than 12 for 96x96 (my icon size) so maybe that is why

11 pt. Even 12 is too big for my taste...
