Hi in disk utility I was making it so I had about 10gb free and the rest free space and my computer crashed, now it says I'm using the whole harddrive and only have 10gb free and there is no unformatted space.

Even Disk Utility doesn't see the free space? If not, you will likely have to reinitialize it using the Partition tab of Disk Utility.
Could you please explain what you were trying to do with Disk Utility - re-partition a drive? Reformat it?

I was trying to make it so I could install linux so I shrunk my partition leaving the rest unformated and then I was going to format it using fdisk on my liveCD but my computer crashed in the middle of resizing and when i rebooted all i saw was my hardrive and only 9 gb free and it saying the rest of my 115 gb is used
