Hi there. I have a MacBook Pro, as well as a Western Digital, Lacie, and 2 G-Tech external hard drives (1 x 500 GB, the other the G Raid2 1 TB Raid 0, which I guess is just 2x500 GB hard drives). I am concerned about the integrity of these drives from lots of use and perhaps some improper mounting/unmounting. What software is out there to check my disks and tell me "you're disk is a okay"? I have heard someone mention Drive Genius and Disk Warrior. What are the differences between these? Which one do I get? Both? Neither?

Also, if I'm concerned my MacBook Pro's HDD is "bad" or perhaps "sick" is it not a good idea to download these programs to run? Should I buy the CD/DVD instead or does that not matter?

Hopefully I'm asking the correct questions??? I just have a lot of files that are worth a lot of $$$ and I want to make sure I'm doing everything correct to back them up, keep them safe, and keep them "healthy".

I have a MacBook Pro 15" 2.33 C2D with a 160 GB HDD. And I'm using 10.5.2

Thank you,
Keith
