I was going to upgrade to Snow Leopard but I discovered I only have 7.91 GB left on my hard drive.

What should I do? I asked at Apple and they said I should back up to Time Machine and get a new internal hard drive.

you could buy a new internal hdd with an external case put the new hdd in your laptop, put snow leopard on it, and near the end of install it will ask if you have files on another hdd you would like to import to your new os disk.

Would it be okay if I moved files I don't use to my 750 external I got for Christmas then install Snow Leopard?

I meant okay for installing Snow Leopard since right now I dont have enough space ... :)

If you're talking about installing SL on the external, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you're talking about moving files off your internal drive to your external to get enough space, then my original statement stands.

Clear out unused files from your existing internal HD, transfer some files from your internal to your external, and go ahead and install SL. You should be good to go.

But even without upgrading to SL, I would still recommend clearing out a bit of space on your HD.

:)

I was going to get the new iLife11 so I can get the new iPhoto. Will I be okay with that as well?

It's like asking if, having bought a new car, it's OK to drive it. Keep about 10 GB free on your internal HDD at all times and do pretty much whatever else you want with it.

he should just buy a new hdd thats bigger so he can stop complaining he has no room for everything he wants. instead hes just gonna fill his old one up just as fast if he cleans it out.
