I am going to order a MBP, and would love to get the 200 gig HD, but I'm concerned about the RPM. The 200 gig is 4200 rpm whereas the 160 is 5400.

Will I notice the speed difference? If so, when the computer is doing what?

Thank you all.

Yes you will
get 5400rpm

or better yet dont upgrade
buy a sata hd enclousre
and buy a $110 160gb 5400rpm 2.5 " SATA drive

so you get a 80gb backup(original drive) and a 160gb in your maccy

and save money!

The difference is pretty noticable. I upgraded my macbook with a 7200rpm harddrive. The thing just flys when booting and when loading large apps and media files.

I suppose a concern with going to higher rpms would be heat, noise, and battery life.
