I am running windows xp pro, through parallels desktop 5.0, on my 2010 i7 macbook pro with snowleopard 10.6.3, & notice when I connect an external hard drive to it via usb 2.0, windows will go through it, & then the options windows comes up asking me what to do, & I can right click on the drive & eject it.
I connected it this time through firewire 800, & I did not get the windows options box when a drive is 1st plugged in, & when I went to my computer, & right clicked, there was no option to eject, but windows did see the drive, I could access it's files etc. So when I was done, I ejected it from the mac os side, looked back in windows, & it was not there so it seems while connected via firewire I have to eject from mac os, not windows.
