I've got a two year old MBP...the 250 GB keeps filling up, and I really want to get some more room in there.

Anyone have any experience with good (or bad) replacement disks for the main drive?

I was also considering this option from Lifehacker:

I rarely use the CD slot, so replacing that with a second hard drive and using an external CD/DVD drive instead sounds good. But in the comments section, it sounds like this might have some side effects. Has anyone tried this?
