Reputable harddrive brands are Seagate, Western Digital, and Hitachi.

Other then that you should look for a drive which is big in size, but not a 'green drive', and 7,200RPM for best performance, or 5,400 for more battery life.

And once you've got it narrowed down just go by price.

So I got my MBP back in August of 2010, these are SATA right?
