Hard drive used space INCREASING in REAL TIME

I was checking my HD space today, and I could literally sit and watch it, ever 2-3 seconds, it would add space or at least USED SPACE detail?

it says 193,260,178 GB, but then 3 seconds later it would say 193,260,250 GB, and go up like that AS I WATCH IT.'

nothing was being downloaded? Is this SWAP FILE or something that would do this?

I have a 16GB MBPr 15", running latest 10.8.5
