Hard Drive

I have an iMac G5 without the ambient light sensor or the built in isight. I wish to exchange the current internal hard drive with http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Western Digital/WD2500JS/. Is that possible, I just want to make s ure beefore i go out and buy it. Thanks.

Nah, it just means you have no removable disks attached (like a USB drive).

Not exactly sure. but you'll need to format your new hard drive with a legal copy of OS X.

Thats not on the CPU or whatever? Not that it effects me since i have OSX Tiger Disk and i will be getting the Leopard Disk too.

No, everything is stored on the Hard Drive.

OS is always on the hard drive... CPU is your processor.

If your not comfortable replacing the Hard Drive yourself (as most aren't), an external HD is the best option.

Apple care yes, and i think its like 2 years by now? i forget when these came out, but it was pretty close to the orginal release of these.

AppleCare extends your warranty to 3 years. So yes, it's still covered. So you would still have something to loose if you voided your warranty.
