Hi, does anyone know if there is any way to hardwire the charger into my laptop? I'm always breaking the tips off in it, and I want to completely avoid that by hard wiring the cord to the DC board..... Any help would be great!!
So crack the case and pull out the DC in board. Desolder the connector.
I would assume that the (orange/green) charging light is passive, driven by the different current levels from the DC side of the power adapter and is safely omitted.
Then solder the wires to the pads where the connector was.
FWIW I'd probably remove the battery altogether if I was hardwiring it.
So you need to keep track of which pad and wire correspond to the outer shell. (most likely ground). I don't have my G4 charger handy to see if it has a polarity mark on it.
