I just bought a one year old MB Pro 15 from a friend to replace my 18 months old MB13 unibody, (i.e. same vintage). There's a 320G harddisk in my new computer, but I have a 500G harddisk in my MB13. I would like to simply move it to the MBPro. Will the drive work as per normal in my new computer, or do I have to load all my data from my Time Machine backup once I've physically moved the drive?

Moving a drive from a newer mac to an older mac will always work. But from an older mac to a newer mac, most of the time it will work but sometimes small things doesn't work such as volume or bluetooth.
