Harddrive just disappeared!

I was working on a file in photoshop, when it told me:

"Could not complete, scratch disk is missing"

So I went and checked, and one of my harddrives is completely missing from the finder.

I went to Disk utility, thinking it accidentally got unmounted or something, but the harddrive is missing from there too!

How do I get my hard drive to show up again?

check the connection and check if it's even spinning.

I did a couple restarts, and no dice.

I decided to open up the case and shuffle the drives in the drive bays, and all of a sudden the hard drive is back! Don't know how long this will last, but I'll take it!

i'd make a copy of that disk, just in case it fails again.

Sounds like a failing drive or hopefully just a fluke. Either way backup and prepare for the worst and hope it never happens again.
