HardDrive problem

Hi, I'm on Vista and have XP on a laptop that I can get on, my Ext. Hard drive(500GB, Klegg Netdisk NDAS) doesn't run when I hook it up to my computer. the HDD inside the case actually starts spinning, and the power light turns on, but under My Computer it doesn't actually show it. and my speakers don't make the "Plugg-In" noise either.

First, you're posting this in the wrong section.

And two, how are you connecting (firewire or USB)?
