I've had the macbook listed in my signature for a few weeks now. In the last few days it's seemed like the harddrive on my mac has been spinning a lot faster then usual (even when idle, checked in activity monitor for disk activity). Now as of yesterday and today it seems like the harddrive is stuttering, I can't really explain what it sounds like so I tried to record it with my iPhone, you can sorta hear it at certian points listed below. I'm sure I would have noticed this if it had been happening before. Is this normal?

Wanted to see if I could get anyone else to look over this. I'm considering going to the closest Apple Store (woo I'm out of town) which is an hour and a half away, and really don't feel like going if it's unnecessary.

If you think that the harddrive could be beginning to have some issues, I would definitely take it to the Apple Store. It could be the start of a crash. Also, backup all of your stuff. It might not last much longer
