I had some material on my harddrive, music files and such that I wanted to delete, so I erased my harddrive and installed snow leopard fresh and clean. My question is can my harddrive still be "scanned" to see if the files were ever there at all?

thanks-

Yes.

The directory to these files were destroyed, but not necessarily the files themselves.

To be safe, just format it and use Security Options to choose the number of complete write-overs you'd like. The more, the more secure and the more time it will take to complete.

Just use "Erase Free Space"
