Hi folks!

I just registered and clearly must have posting privileges. However, this doesn't seem to be the case in the social and political forum.
Are those by invitation only, or does one have to meet some additional requirements?

Greetings from Berlin!

read the faq and/or stickies and you'd find that the politics forum requires a minimum of 100 posts.

When I was a newbie, there *were no* rules. You just sort of mosied into town, shot things up, and showed people who was boss. Those were the days.

So that would be your explanation, too, Abstract, since we joined about the same time.

I'm kind of surprised this doesn't happen more often. Newbies, streaming from the woodwork, their tepid bodies writing forth from the abyss, minds fogged with power and lust, reaching and twisting, a macabre mass of limbs and open mouths, a mad and degenerate hunt for glory from within the depths of the Googletubes dank recesses, catacombs so dark that light itself flees forth like rats from a tunnel -- a tunnel that is patently on fire -- whose depths burrow to the very core of the Earth, where, warmed by it's ancient core and fed by your suffering, I await, growing ever stronger.

No, the first rule of the forums is not to talk about the forums. The second rule is to read the forum rules. ;)

All right, if the applicant is young, tell him he's too young. Old, too old. Fat, too fat. If the applicant then waits for three days without food, shelter, or encouragement he may then enter and begin his training.

You're too....BLONDE!!! ;)

As for the OP, I'd stay away from the political forum anyway... Macrumors is a great place filled with wonderfully helpful people, but the political forum here can get a little 'heated'.
