hardware differences between different countries

Hello,

I am in Canada, and a coworker of mine is going to the states next month. They offered to pick me up an iPhone and I am quite inclined to take them up on this.

I have one big question though - are there/will there be any hardware/firmware differences between the US version and the eventual Canadian version?

I guess this applies to UK residents also. Are there any hardware/firmware differences between the UK version and the US version?

Are there even different versions for different countries?

Is it too early to tell - do I have to wait until Nov 9th to find out?

I don't really want to get the iPhone from the states only to find out that when it becomes available in Canada, it uses different hardware and that my American model is incompatible with the Canadian service.

Can anybody help me out?

I dont think hardware would be different, just software IMO.
