I've used the program "Hardware Monitor" in the past with my iBook and PowerMac and have found the feedback provided by a wide variety of sensors to be quite usefull.

I tried this application with my new MacBook Pro and am disappointed to see only a few sensors reporting data; mostly to do with the Battery! The only data it returns are:

Temperature of the Hard Drive
Battery Voltage
Battery Current
Battery Current Capacity
Battery Maximum Capacity
Graphics Processor (%)

With my PowerMac there are many many more sensors including CPU temperature and fan speeds.

Is this a limitation of the program, or does the macbook pro not have the sensors that previous Macs have offered?
