I'm looking at replacing my old Roku and one thing I'd like is a box that can output Dolby digital even when the input is Dolby digital plus (which most of the streaming services have switched to. I've heard the aTV can do it, any other current models have that feature? Thanks in advance.

aTV in general does not do bitstream out, so you’ll get Dolby Digital (and -Plus) decoded inside tvOS and PCM multichannel from HDMI.
You can let the tvOS re-encode it back to DD5.1 if absolutely needed. Any aTV model.

Thanks. Ended up getting the aTV and it does exactly what I need, I have surround again on all streamed stuff with my DD5.1 receiver.
