Hardware or software raid 1?

Hi all,

I recently picked up a Yottamaster external hdd enclosure that supports hardware raid. I have a couple of drives and want to get raid 1 set up — just curious if anyone has a recommendation between using the hardware raid built into the enclosure or if there are benefits to creating a software raid instead? I’ve read pros and cons on each online but am wondering about real world experience within the macOS. Thanks

I can't really answer your question, but I've been using software RAID 0 for a couple of years without any problems.
