Hardware test - how?

how do run the hardware test if keyboard is not working?

I tried to put a snow leopard install dvd, it booted to the install menu and I click the options like disk utility, terminal, etc but no hardware test found.

Is there any other way I can get into hardware test (I have a apple BT keyboard that is working), but everytime I hold the D button when starting up it doesn't work

Depending on when your computer was made the AHT software may not be on the OS restore DVD. On my mid 2009 it is on the application install DVD.
