Hardware test on startup

I powered up my laptop a few mins ago this morning, the screen flickered and it booted into an apple hardware/software test which had an OS 9 look and feel. Is this a routine thing? Never experienced it with my other macs

Is the D key stuck on your keyboard? Holding that down at boot is what puts you in to diags.

Nope the D seems to work fine
