Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but I have searched extensively and found nothing on it.

I use an Imac. I have my external speakers plugged into the headphone jack on the imac. It shows up in the system preferences as headphones. I also use a logitech headset for applications such as skype and ventrillo. My logitech USB headset is listed under audio devices as well.

My problem is that there is no independent control for volume for the headset and the external speakers. Both the volume up on my keyboard and the volume control on my headset both control the master volume which only affects the default external speakers. I want to use a hardware volume control to increase just my headphones or just my external speakers. I can only change the volume on my headset by changing the volume in the application that is defaulted to the headset. I'm a gamer so it is very inconvenient to minimize my full screen game then go to ventrillo pull up the settings and adjust the output volume. Windows 7 just gave me two slider bars to control each output device independently. Is this possible in Mac OS X or is there an app that would allow it? Help is appreciated. Sorry this is so wordy. I just wanted to make sure i explained what i wanted to do.
