I've a mid-2009 Mac Pro and just saw the new nVidia GTX470-based cards. Awesome card.

Using Boot Camp and Win7, is it easy to rig that card to work?

(I'd put back my ATi card for when I need OS X or use my MacBook Pro for Mac-centric work...)

When booted into Windows, your Mac Pro might as well be a Windows machine. You can use any GPU that'll fit.

I would get ATI 5850 instead, it's cheaper and almost as good with significantly lower power consumption and operating temperature. Or throw few tenners more and get 5870, it'll crush both

Will do, thanks much! (I'll read up on any power adapter converters if they're needed, but lower power requirement for almost-the-same performance as the GTX470 is a win-win! :D )

has the details on the same question for a 480 (ignore the pictures of houses on fire). My 08 Pro has been running a 480 under bootcamp for several weeks now without problems. With a 470 you will just have fewer power supply issues and even less heat to worry about, but you will find that other thread useful.
