What I mean is has anyone (In this forum) bought a 2nd iPhone on release day so they can sell it on eBay to make more money?

Either by-
Selling it on the release date
Or
Wait until it can be jailbroken and unlocked, and then see it

Reason why Im asking is because 2 of the phones on my family have passed their 18 month contract and I figured I try this process but I wanna be sure.

People have done this. While in line one time I saw a girl who was near the front of the line give up her spot for $900. Some guy paid her too.

I did this, waited in a queue for 8 hours (not the best idea I have ever come up with) but did get free food and drink from the Apple guys. I bought two for £500 each and then sold one for £630, not bad for a days work.

Some people do, do this. However personally I don't see the point. Sure it would make me a few hundred dollars reselling on eBay but IMO I don't need the extra cash, would prefer someone else which has actually waited in line to buy the phone and I just don't want the hassle of needing to resell, list on ebay, ship etc.

Scalping is also looked down upon around these forums as we learned during the iPad 2 launch.

No and I would never support a scalper. It's kind of ironic, the reason they had to pay more $$$ for the iPhone/iPad is because scalpers take the supply yet they reward the behavior and buy from them.

Scalpers are the worst. I never buy from them. Buy an iPad 2 for $499 then try to sell it for $700.

For the Craigslist scalpers, I agree to meet up with them and cancel when they arrive at the meeting place. :p One time I made the poor guy drive an hour and 30 mins.

The manager made her replace both iPhones for me while I taunted her the whole time with a smirk. Took some pics of her working around the store too on the new iPhones. Uploading to Facebook later.

Your parents must be so proud of how you have turned out.

That's sickening. Not even funny. You should be ashamed.

Haha you're such an ass :p

I have bought a flipped at least 3 iPhones on eBay and Craigslist. I think go about $700 each when I sold new ones. Mostly to people that wanted to use them on T-mobile.
