I was looking around and it doesn't seem like there is much information even on google about building your own watch, movements and all. I don't know why I want to do this but it seems like it would be fun.

That actually does seem like it would be a fun hobby. You would need very steady hands and a good eye......

Post back if you find any info on this.......

/added to my potential hobby list...

EDIT: Here's a website of some guy that made one. Apparently there is an internet watchmaking forum..... there are other forums besides this one?!?

Interesting. I think the part that intrigues me is that they have made them for quite a long time and I have no idea how they are put together.

It would definitely be an interesting project.

To be able to put a watch together properly so that it functions efficiently would be a cool achievement.

Then you'd be able to control time, right?

Im kind of surprised there isn't any starter kits or anything when I search google. Maybe this is an apprenticeship or "do yourself with a high likelihood of failure" only type of hobby.

You've unraveled my plan to take over the world! :D

Many years ago I was apprenticing under my uncle to become a jeweler.

I got to the point I could take any watch apart and clean it. I could assemble the basics on most watches. My uncle would then take it from there.

Interesting time.
