Ever since Yosemite I have tried to get my iMac to make phone calls and it has never worked. Not once. I have been able to receive a few phone calls but not as many as on my iPad.

I've upgraded the iMac to El Capitan and am using iOS 9 on both my phone and iPad and now only the phone makes and receives phone calls. I have a 2013 27" i7 iMac so I know it is compatible. Anybody else having issues? I have even made sur to follow the directions from the link below and still it does not work.

I've used it, and it works fine. Sometimes it seems that signing in and out of iCloud and reenabling the phone call forwarding from inside FaceTime on the Mac helps to get it working.

I tried this a lot of times with Yosemite before giving up and forgetting about this option. It did the trick this time. Thanks for the reminder.

It works fine for me.

To make a call: Open FaceTime, Select "Audio" from the top of the left column. Select or enter the number you'd like to call, then click on the telephone icon.
