last week my 16 gig 3G started running hot and i noticed that the battery was draining fast ~ 2hrs life with one call and nothing else. I called applecare and they said it should be covered and asked it i wanted to return it, well sure. Fast forward 2 days, empty box shows up. Hmm everytime i have had problems with other phones, i was sent a replacement phone (Razr and HTC 8525) and returned my phone in the box. Called Applecare again, no we dont do that, you need to pay extra. Sorry i cant be without my phone for an unknown length of time, and i am not paying extra for another phone.

Nearest Apple store is 40 miles away, fortunately Monday i will be near a different apple store so i made an appointment after my meeting.

Is this going to be a hassle to get replaced or is it pretty much a done deal?
