Has anyone had success upgrading your phone after the fact?

So my iPhone 5 is having power button issues (you have to push it very hard to get it to lock). Since I have AppleCare I'm going to get it replaced soon, but I have realized that 16gb is just not cutting it. Has anyone been able gone in on a repair and paid the difference for a bigger model? I mean I guess I can deal but was wondering if Apple allowed it or maybe the apple store would allow me to pay the extra hundred and give me a 32gb model?

No, you can't do this, best bet is to sell your existing phone and purchase a larger capacity one.

not that I heard of, same goes with trying to swap colors, it's not going to happen. Basically whatever you gave in to have replaced, is the same you will get back (same color/capacity)
