There was a time where if you had a bill that was over a certain monthly amount (mine is over $200) they would shorten the primary line's upgrade period.
In November 2010 I upgraded to a Samsung Omnia (I know, I know) - when the Verizon iPhone came out in 2011, I used a family upgrade to get a 4 (and sold the Omnia - I wasn't going to inflict that on anyone I knew) - then in November 2011 - my upgrade eligibility switched from July 2012 to November 2011 and I promptly got a 4S.
I have fanagled a 5 for myself by switching phones and upgrades and such - but wonder if this is something they might do again?
