The vid doesn't answer the question. At all.

It really doesn't answer the question of the battery life, but it does show an extensive walkthrough of Mavericks, which, strangely enough, I have not been able to find on YouTube at all. So to me the link is useful regardless.

I installed it earlier today on my 2013 13" i7 MBA. I suspect it needs to settle in but it said 18 hours battery life remaining

13" i5/128/8gb 2013 w/ 10.9 DP1. Showing 60% / 8:52 left. Have been using most of the day off and on for web browsing and email. Includes about 30 mins when I was sitting outside with full brightness, couple of small photo edits, some shopping purchases, and some uploading. Usually average about 35 - 40% brightness when I'm using it.

I'm thinking the 12-14 hour range is completely doable (consistently) with 13".

All day usage is finally here...

I'm running 10.9 b2 on my new 11" i5 and I'm at 53% battery and its telling me 5:04 battery left. I will say the battery time jumps up and down a lot depending on what you're doing.

True

It clocked. And I used it for 16 hours. All with Safari and Mail Open doing their stuff.

edit: Sitting at 52% today with 9 hours left. Better than before.

Has someone used the AirPlay to Apple TV for a second display with the new MBA? How well does it run? Will it work on Apple TV 2?

Yes. 12-14 hrs. Less than 40% brightness typically. Casual mail and Safari, some light iPhoto.
