iPod touch Has anyone seen the new iPod Touches in Stores

Just curious if anyone has seen the iPod Touches in retail stores, excluding the Apple Stores. I've not seen any yet and was just curious if this was the case everywhere else.

I'm waiting very patiently :eek: to go get my iPod touch (a lot of problems with shipping in my area so I try to avoid) From what I've seen online all the stores like Circuit City, Target, etc. are listing 9/19 as the ship date, so I'm thinking this may be when retailers get their stock as well. Fingers crossed this will be the date, if not sooner, hopefully I can wait till then :rolleyes: If not I may just make the 4 hour trip to the nearest Apple store and buy it :D
 
I was buying a locked-up item from my target store today so I had to pay at the electronics desk (since they don't want you walking around with that stuff in the store, could steal it, etc) and the person in front of me was paying for one.
 
I see 2 Best Buy stores in stock in my area. Damn it! Should have just waited a day...Best Buy is 5 minutes away, whereas the nearest Apple store is 40 minutes away. Plus, why the hell do they charge a restocking fee? Shame on you Apple!

Nope. I've returned a iPod nano before and there's no restocking fee. The good thing about Apple is that it tells you exactly how much the restocking fee it :)...not that I plan on returning it or anything. It'd just be nice to have no restocking fee.
 
Thanks for the good news. Fingers crossed that my store will get some in stock soon... I thought about camping out in front of the display, but I don't think they would appreciate it. I've only gone by 20 times or so (may not that many times) I'm thinking Walmart may wait to get in store until they get them online, they still only have the old ones online.

I was checking today and they still have the 8gb for $299, I just wonder how many people will still pay that not knowing new ones are out... Of course I think most people that would want one would know, but I'm thinking along the lines of parents, grand parents, etc. On the other hand, I'm sure everyone in my family has it figured out as its all I've been talking about for a month or so.

My Walmart is completely redoing the store right now, so hopefully they won't be delayed in getting it in stock. The other day I was trying to get a new stand for my GPS and they were out of them, the guy that worked there said they aren't getting new shipments of things like that until they finish the eletronic department :eek: Anyway, I might try to wonder out of town this weekend and find it somewhere. My only other option would be to get it from Kmart, but they never have things right away and when they do get it you will pay at least 10% more, so I will see what happens.
