I have a relatively new refurbished MacBook Pro 2016 that I was given by the Apple Store (long story). Since having it I have the dreaded wake sleep issue where the MBP screen > 90% of the time never wakes up. A video of the problem is : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LWewmzlL_gk - That's not my video but obviously this problem exists for others. When I received the laptop I used time machine to restore and had the issue. I then completely reinstalled the OS (after deleting) and did NOT do time machine and reinstalled just a few software applications from the App Store (office, fantastical, Evernote) and had the issue. I called Apple and they had me replicate the issue and send a file to engineering who said "Driver issue - take it to Apple Genius Bar". Really? I've gone through MULTITUDES of threads to see if it was a software setting, changed settings in power saver, etc and still have the issue.
I have a Genius Bar appointment in a week but what I've NEVER seen online in any forum is if someone SUCCESSFULLY had theirs repaired and if it ended up really being hardware problem.
