Has anyone seen this problem with Sierra: pink highlights behind some views

I'm trying to do determine if this a GPU problem or just a problem that pops up in Sierra.

It looks as though you selected all of the text. Is your text-selection colour pink? How often has it occurred?

It is not. It looks like my text selection is blue. Plus you cannot select text like that in Notification Center

It seems to happen after new OS updates or after the computer is sleeping for a while? Closing the windows and restarting my iMac seems to fix it.

It seems software related if it goes away on restart. But if no one else has seen this maybe it is a hardware failure?
