Have a deal set up w/ gazelle.com to sell my IP5 but just heard on the radio the Gamestop will give you cash at select stores.. quoted online, just about the same as gazelle anyone ever sold anything there?

I traded my iphone 5 64gb att....with 50% bonus holiday coupon they had 3 weeks ago....i would up getting 715 in credit....turned around and bout 700 dollars worth of amazon kindle gift credit...win

It just all sounds too easy, you walk in there and walk out with cash?? I'll be trying it in a few hours I'll update here how it went.

I have sold a couple of Apple products to Game Stop. You get more for if you choose store credit, but I have always opted for the cash. It's a very easy process and I have always been given what was quoted online. Honestly, I prefer it to both eBay and Craigslist.

Yeah I sold my 32gb 5 and they offered 340 cash or 420 in store credit. I also had the 50% credit bonus so ended up getting over $600 for my phone. They just write down your info and take a fingerprint and they give you cash. Pays better than gazelle too.

what can do you with kindle gift credit?

Well I went to the store this afternoon I had been quoted $302 online for a IP5 in good condition, when I got to the store the guy there takes a look at the phone and says the it was in mint/like new condition condition (I didn't think they would recognize that) and said I would get $338 dollars and handed me cash right out of the register :)!!

I know I could have got a little more on Ebay but I didn't want to deal with that right now.

Just a tip: They do need to get the Serial number from the phone, I had reset it back to the setup welcome screen, So I had to step to aside while I got the sim card out of the 5s and put it back in to the 5 to "activate" the phone and get to the serial number.

Gamestop is good if you want store credit to trade in for new games or a system. If you want more cash try BuyBackWorld or Gazelle.

I thought they only give store credit?

I got $339 from GameStop for a like new 5 16gb. Not the highest, but it was CASH in hand, no mailing, no disagreement about condition once they received, no eBay empty box mail back scam, and no muggers.

Just got home from there. Got $318 cash for my iPhone 5 16GB. Could have gotten $10 more if I gave them the lightning cable but I wanted to keep that for an extra.

Now, here's where their deal gets really good. If I had sold it to them for store credit I would have gotten $400. However, if I had been doing it as a trade they add even more so I would have gotten over $500 in store credit. The guy told me all I had to do was buy something, anything, even if it was $10. Then I have a store credit there for over $500. Definitely a good deal with PS4 and Xbox One coming out in November. However, I lack patience so I took the cash for now.

And yes I know I could have gotten more on eBay but with so many people out there who try to scam through eBay I was glad to just take cash in-hand and be done with it.

Where do you get that coupon? Do you have to be a PowerUp member?

Wow! So if I trade my 16gb iPhone 5 (truly in mint condition) I will get $427 in trade-in credit (I'd keep the cable as well).

If I just buy any used game, even if it's $10, then I would get an extra 30% so $545 trade-credit ($555 minus the $10 for the used game)??? If so, this is a no-brainer!

I thought they only give store credit?

Nope. They will also give you cash on the spot. It is just less than the amount in store credit. I am not a gamer, so I always take the money. Such an easy and stress free way to sell your Apple products.

Is that promo listed on the web somewhere? Can you link it?

This promo is not listed and I believe it expires soon. They give an additional 30% in store credit if you buy anything in the store used. I bought a $3 ps3 game used and walked out with $390 credit for my iPhone 4s

Just to follow up, I actually did trade in my 16gb iPhone 5 tonight to GameStop.

$437.00 trade value
$131.10 extra 30% promo when buying any used item
-$10.00 Refurbishing fee (kinda BS, but whatever)
-$0.89 used game purchase
---------
$557.21 net trade-in credit on PowerUp card!!!

The clerk also told me that the trade-in credit is different from a gift card since taxes don't get applied when using the trade-in credit. So in a sense, where I live, this is equivalent to a $600.39 gift card!

I wonder how long these trade-in credit values will hold?

Tempted to do this asap with my 5, it's in mint condition (OtterBox Defender since day one) but they only want to offer me $199 and some change, I think I could do quite a bit better on Craigslist but that is a hassle.

GameStop only wants to offer 199? You can get an estimate on the website to print out and take with you to the store. And I'd take it to a different store if that's all their offering on a like new 5.

I was just looking into off loading my ip4 with Gamestop earlier today. Sounds like a great way to sell it off quick without any faffing about online with potential scammers and the likes.

what can do you with kindle gift credit?

Don't pay attention to the "kindle" part. It's good for anything you buy on Amazon. You get a bump if you trade in the phone towards the purchase of a preowned item. I shop a lot on Amazon, so if I just buy a bunch of Amazon gift cards with all the extra store credit, it's pretty much as good as cash.

Thanks for the tip!

Interesting.
So take the higher store credit offer and then you can use that to buy an amazon gift card?
I shop on amazon a lot so that would be great.

That's right. Double check with the store, though, because YMMV. I've heard some people say that they couldn't buy gift cards with store credit at Gamestop, but they may have been referring to just Gamestop's own gift cards.
