I want to double the ram and change to SSD. I have watched the 2 OWC videos posted on YouTube and was shocked how much work is involved. Is it as intimidating as it seems?
Hard Drive Replacement:

Ram Replacement (even harder):

Obviously I intend to replace both at the same time so I only have to do this once!
Any tips?

I've not done this on a 21" specifically, but with experience of other macs, I would say yes, it is.

Unless you are super confident and/or capable, if I were you I would find an independent service agent and have them do it for you. They might charge you £50 for the service but at least you won't have to risk destroying your machine, which is not that difficult to achieve.

I totally agree with Chippy99, if you want to upgrade it take the machine to an Apple Authorized Service Provider to have the work done. Working on late model iMacs is EXTREMELY difficult for someone not used to working on AIO computers.

If you don't know of any AASP's in your area, use the following link to begin finding one:

Good luck.
