Everywhere I look online it seems that no one has gotten the new ultrathin wireless keyboard to work with laptops correctly. Mine is stuck with the function keys not doing as they are supposed to. My volume control keys trigger Expose. I have tried to remap the keys using the Keyboard preference pane. I have tried checking that checkbox that requires the use of the fn key in order to activate the "special" features of the keyboard. It seems that this keyboard has absolutely no desire to work with my laptop properly. All I care about is getting my volume keys mapped correctly. I can't believe that Apple wouldn't have support for this, but then again, it wouldn't surprise me.
So has anyone out there actually got it to work (without using some random 3rd party application to remap keys)? I have tried a couple 3rd party apps to no avail. I'm running 10.6.1.
EDIT: Based on my quick look at Keyboard Viewer, it seems that my computer is recognizing the wireless keyboard as the old style white Apple Pro Wireless keyboard. Any thoughts on getting it to see it as the correct keyboard?
