Has anyone tried installing M.2 in a cMP RAM Slot?

Recently I came across a Linus Tech Tips video where he installs an M.2 storage drive in a RAM slot. I looked around online and apparently, companies are making 'risers' for M.2 to be mounted in a RAM slot. I was wondering if anyone has tried this in a cMP and if so, what are your results and is it even possible?

The article makes it clear that it is not a memory slot - but a DIMM-format connector attached to the PCIe.

Never a bad idea to do a sanity check before pulling the trigger. NOT asking would've been the nob move! Sure I'm not the only one who learned about these risers today.
