I saw their ads and their products look really good. The Snap Grip 4 seems to have everything I’m looking for—low profile, stand mode, magnetically attachable to phone, MagSafe charging, works with cases. Plus they have several other accessories that look really convenient.

But of course, that’s just info from ads. I’d love to get first hand accounts. I’m concerned about magnet strength, charging heat, and any other details I may not foresee. Thanks!

I have the Snap Grip 4 with iPhone 15 Pro and Apple's official silicone MagSafe case. It will NOT charge on the official apple MagSafe puck. It keeps connecting/disconnecting over and over. Disappointing.. I really like the grip but have to use cable to charge now.

Oh man that is disappointing to hear. I wonder if it charges better using OhSnap’s own magnetic chargers, not that I want to buy only their chargers.
Doesn’t the Grip 4 attach magnetically to the iPhone so you can just take it off to wirelessly charge (albeit that’s an added hassle)? I saw a video where the guy just threw it on and it attached.

I know I’ve seen plenty of people say it works for them and some others that have same issue as me. It seems to have something to do with which case you use. Thinnest possible is likely best, but then again the silicone is super thin so I was shocked. My brother doesn’t use a case and sticks the grip directly to his phone and it’s fine.

At first I used the magnets-only to stick it to my case which allowed it to be removed easier but it also stuck to whatever I put it on (fridge, magnet car mount, etc) and came off the phone. The magnets are so strong on the other side, it stays glued to whatever you stick it to haha. So I ended up using the adhesive part as well to make it stick to the phone better. I didn’t like how it kept coming off when I took my phone off the car mount.

I’ve emailed their support to ask. All I can think of is try another case, or ditch the case and use it directly on the phone.

I don’t use a case but I’ve used the snap luxe on my 14p and now my 16p. Previously had the popsocket but the thickness always bugged me and it was annoying to have to remove it to wireless charge (which I used pretty much exclusively). The snap luxe is pretty perfect. It does attach magnetically but it has an adhesive that is reusable. It’s not something you want to remove frequently though. I’ve reused it 3 times and it’s holding up fine but you need to use something to pry it up (ohsnap’s directions suggest a plastic spoon).

Appreciate the info! I'll probably give it a whirl and hope for the best.

I’ve only used the pop socket with MagSafe up until now, but mine broke recently and in researching a replacement I saw Mobile Reviews Eh recommend the Tango Ultra grip: https://tangogrip.com/.

They also sell them on Amazon. I’m trying it now. It’s either as thick or even thinner than the base of a pop socket round (with pop top removed), it’s made of metal, and it works as a stand in landscape. It uses a spring instead of telescoping plastic so it has less rigidity and I’m still getting used to the feel of it. It is comfortable in the hand and it’s made of metal so feels very sturdy. It’s magnetic on both sides so you could attach a MagSafe wallet on top of it or another MagSafe accessory, but it doesn’t offer any charge through capabilities which sounds like the oh snap is iffy on anyway. It’s also less expensive than the oh snap.

I’m debating whether I’m going to keep this or go back to pop socket. I like how svelte it is and the grip feels solid, plus being able to put my wallet on top of it instead of having to remove the grip is a nice bonus, but putting it into stand mode is a little fiddly, and I may prefer the rigidity of the pop socket.

I own a snap luxe (and previously an MagSafe popsocket) and tried the tango because it seemed easier to open 1 handed and loved that the brush steel matched my natural titanium better. They are similar but here’s what I found:

1) the snap luxe is a bit thinner and noticeably lighter than the tango. Not a big deal for some but I think it’s perceptible if you use your phone naked.

2) 1 handed opening is easier on the tango. It takes practice to do this with the snap luxe but it’s doable (took me a week a 2)

3) The snap luxe opens farther out and the grip itself lets your fingers touch. You can also slide 1 finger through the center to grip. The tango feels more like a popsocket where your fingers are spread apart. I find the snap luxe the most comfortable.

4) You can’t spin the tango freely like the other 2. Crucial on the snap luxe but not necessary on the tango unless you like to fidget.

5) No pass through charging. I totally overlooked this before buying and just assumed it could. Sort of a deal breaker for me after using the snap luxe.

I would recommend the tango over the MagSafe popsocket for someone who wants to remove/transfer their grip frequently. Otherwise the snap luxe is more versatile. It’s definitely overpriced but there’s nothing like it afaik.

I've been using a Snap 4 Luxe for the past couple weeks and I like it a lot. My experience mostly agrees with what people here said about it, although I can't compare to Tango or MagSafe PopSocket since I haven't used those.

I'm using it on my iPhone SE3, which I know is a very small phone by today's standards but I find the SE3 slippery and much harder to use one-handed than my previous SE1, so the Snap helps a lot. So it should help even more with bigger phones. I'm using the adhesive to attach it to my SE3 (no case) since the SE3 doesn't have MagSafe.

The outside magnet is decently strong--it sticks firmly to metal surfaces, so I like having that option.

I haven't used it with MagSafe charging yet, only wireless charging (since my SE3 doesn't have MagSafe), and I find it charges well for the most part. More often than not it charges on first try, but when it does have trouble it only takes a little position adjustment to get it to charge. It's just ok enough that I'm not bothered by it.

Using it completely one-handed was very important to me, and I can say now I'm very comfortable quickly popping it open, using it, and snapping it closed--all with one hand. But it took a week or so of playing with it and getting a little creative. There are different ways to do it, so one just has to play around and find the way they like, and then get used to it. I actually do it two different ways depending on how I happen to grab my phone. FYI most times I don't slide two fingers through, I just push the bottom part of the disc out and let it rest on my middle finger. Sometimes I'll do that but lock it in "stand mode" for a more secure hold, and sometimes I'll go ahead and slide both fingers through for maximum security--all one-handed of course. I've played with it so much that sometimes I actually fidget with it now, snapping it open/closed. It makes a nice subtle sound when it snaps closed.

First time I've had a stand on a phone. Very handy. You can do portrait and landscape.

I love how really thin and unobtrusive it is. Despite its thinness, it seems to be pretty strong/durable, even the thin flexible parts.

It is expensive ($40 ordered from the website), but it's well designed and made, and like someone said there doesn't seem to be an equivalent/better alternative. Reminds me of Apple products haha.

I'm looking forward to eventually using this with a MagSafe phone and MagSafe accessories.

I can confirm that it does work with their magnetic charger. And it also works with my Apple MagSafe charger just fine. I have the car kit and really like it. The magnet is pretty strong But honestly, the Snap 4 takes some getting used to. I prefer the EWA MagSafe Grip. The Snap 4 isn't great as a stand and I feel like I'm going to break the plastic "loop" spring thing.

Thanks for the suggestion! I just took a look and it seems like the EWA has a smart design. It's pretty cool that it's modular. But one big omission, apparently you have to pop it off to wirelessly charge. That's one thing I really wanted to avoid.

The Snap does take getting used to, but I do feel very used to it now after figuring out the best way to use it and practicing--but yes it does take some initial effort there. Now I kind of think it's fun haha. I wouldn't mind trying the EWA though, if it only had MagSafe charging passthrough.

The Snap seems like a pretty good stand to me personally, but then I don't really have anything to compare it to.

The folding part of the Snap is super thin and flexible so just from that it seems like it should break, but from tugging on and twisting it a lot it doesn't show any signs of weakness/breaking. I have a feeling it's strong, but I guess we'll see in due time.

Yeah if you are already used to the Snap design, it's a great product. I also really like the thinness so maybe I'll give it more time. I prop my phone up Portrait style a lot and the Snap just didn't work well for that, IMO.

And I was already used to pulling the grip off so I'm not bothered by it. BUT it does work on SOME non-Apple chargers, not all. The EWA does work on the Snap magnetic charger but it gets hot so I just take it off. Choices for personal preferences in this market have come a long way!
