I’ve wanted to put wireless CarPlay in my car for a long while, but the brand name head units out there are not my cup of tea. Has anyone tried these cheap Chinese brand ones? How do they work?

Here’s an example.

I've got two in both my VW's, and the newer ones based on the PX6 CPU's seem to work very well. They use a software program called ZLink and the original 4.0.4 version was a bit quirky, but updating it to 4.0.14 has solved all the problems I had.

Note that the head unit supports both wireless and USB connections, and I use mine with a USB-Lightning cable so my phone charges in the car all the time. Never had any problems with iOS beta releases, so I'm very happy with mine.

Its a Wondefoo PX6 with 4Gigs memory, 1280x720 display, and 64Gb storage.

Super helpful! Where did you purchase it from?

Yes, had one for some time, wouldn’t go back to wired CarPlay. Get the USBC version though its got newer firmware.
