Has anyone upgraded to Catalina from High Sierra

I have a late model 2013 iMac (Catalina compatible) that is running High Sierra. I never upgraded to Mohave due to that font issue that I'm not sure was ever fixed. Haven't been hanging out on this forum much as of late.

What I'd like to know is has anyone upgraded to Catalina from High Sierra, or is it best to go from High Sierra to Mohave to Catalina?

Updated from High Sierra to Catalina yesterday. 2015 iMac hung up for hours but worked after following suggestions on this forum to just shut off computer and restart. Most things seem to work ok except I can’t get any of my albums from Photos onto my iPhone or iPad. Seems to be a problem with the change from iTunes to finder for backup. I’ll give it a day or two to see if anything shows online as to a fix. If not, then it’s back to the older OS.
