I am looking at getting a the Yin-Yang firewire 800/400 hub. I really need another 400 port with the 800 port. I was going to daisy chain all my drive with the one port, external Blu Ray Drive(put an internal blu ray that I had into an enclosure that has firewire 800) external hdd(again internal hhd put in an enclosure with firewire 800, converted to exFat) and a external My Book Home edition firewire 400(shuts down automatically with computer, converting to HFS+ to use with Time Machine). The only problem is that I am not going to have the two firewire 800 drives on all the time, and daisy chain only works if the drives connected first are on. So I need a hub to have the firewire 400 device separate. My only problem I see from the Yin-Yang is the connector is only 3 inches long, and plugged into an iMac, it might not be touching the desk for support. I might just be hanging from the port, and I am wondering if the extra weight will cause a strain on the port. Has anyone bought and used this hub and also used it with an iMac?

Here is a couple of links to show what the product is for those who haven't seen it.

I decided to order the hub. Once my BTO iMac finally arrives, I will let everyone know how it is.
