Has anyone used a driving theory test app? (UK)

I have some redundancy money to play around with and decided it's probably time I learned to drive.

Has anyone used any of the many driving test apps?
If so, which ones do you recommend and more importantly, which ones should I steer clear of (no pun intended!)

Doesn't seem ideal, looks like it assumes you already have a theory book to practice from.

I might grab the free ones and see if anything is useful.
