Has anyone with a FAN account gotten upgrade fees wavied?

I just got a 3gs on my family plan by using a number on my account that was eligible for an upgrade.

I then put in my sim after activation and had the data plan removed from the upgraded number.

My question is- has anyone gotten the upgrade 18 dollar fee waived if you have a FAN account?
