Just wondering now if Apple and Samsung ever used the same type of technology for there batteries. Because Apple used to buy their batteries from Samsung SDI so surely they much have has the same battery technology at some point. The Size or watt power could have different but the technology inside must have been the same.

Wouldn’t be surprised if they did. Like any other phone maker Apple will buy from the supplier that will meet their quality and demand standards at the best price of the time, and I wouldn’t be surprised Samsung did at some point for the battery to.

Apple hasn't used SDI for iPhone batteries in a long time, if ever. Sony supplied Apple for iPhone 5.

Apple has used Desay (Huizhou) as their exclusive iPhone battery supplier since iPhone 6 up to iPhone XS and probably ongoing.
