I will freely admit I am gonna preorder the iPhone X however I am wondering if they plan on abandoning integration of touchID into the display glass on next iterations of the iPhone

I think this would be a huge mistake as touchID is still much more ideal in other situations like being able to unlock while still in your pocket, viewing the phone off axis etc.

even if FaceID is bulletproof it will never be as fast as touchID so to me it will be a compromise whereas touchID integrated into the screen is still going to be vastly superior.
