Has Apple explained why the clear case has a white back?

I understand why the back isn’t clear because it would interfere with the new Apple logo placement. But why not color match the back for blue and orange? Is it just because they didn’t want to add two additional SKUs for the clear case? Are they just leaving it up to third parties?
