With the embedded sim for the iPads, there was always the warning that if you went on AT&T the ESim would be locked to AT&T forever more. The workaround on this was the use of an external SIM tray. On the Series 3 with LTE, there is no SIM option. I am very interested if Apple has got an approach to dealing with this, or if they have eliminated the problem if I switch carriers.

I just had a chat with my Dutch provider (cellular version is not supported in the Netherlands as of yet) and they told me the sim will be build in by Apple for the provider concerned. So it's useless for me to e.g. go to Germany and pick a cellular version up there because it will be locked to the German provider. I guess that also means switching providers isn't possible with the watch?
